Het verhaal startte met de fascinatie van ontwerper Claus Bellinger voor het baanbrekende McLaren MP4-1 Formule 1-chassis uit 1981: extreem licht, uitzonderlijk sterk en volledig vernieuwend. Die combinatie werd het DNA van BLAC.
In 2008 introduceerde BLAC hun eerste innovatieve carbon fiber monturen met een gepatenteerde titanium kern waardoor de veren verstelbaar zijn — een wereldprimeur in de optische industrie.
Elke BLAC-bril wordt met de hand gemaakt in Denemarken door een gespecialiseerd team bij Bellinger House.
