Inspired by Mr. Lauren’s dedication to the bespoke sartorial tradition, the Ralph Lauren Fall/Winter 2014 Eyewear Collection reflects his passion for fine craftsmanship and luxury. With a refined and timeless sophistication, each frame is handmade and fitted with crystal lenses at Luxottica’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Lauriano, Italy.

Meticulous attention to detail and unique production processes are foundational to this collection. The vintage RL Signature hinge ensures optimal functionality, while the Ralph Lauren script logo beneath the varnish conveys a subtle elegance. The “Hand Made in Italy” seal is heat-printed on the right inner temple, marking its exceptional Lauriano origin and production. Finally, a black, croc-textured leather case with accompanying purple cloth provides a touch of glamour to each special-edition frame. 

The collection includes three sunglass models—two for men and one for women—and one men’s optical style. The RL 8130P displays an iconic phantos silhouette enriched by vintage details and a strong, masculine line, while a distinctive square shape characterizes the RL 8129P sunglass for men. For women, the femininity of the RL 8119W model is emphasized by a modern, butterfly acetate frame, merging elegant lines with high-quality craftsmanship. Rounding out the collection, the RL 6127P optical eyeglass is a handsome statement of modern style.

To support the Fall/Winter 2014 special-edition capsule, Ralph Lauren released a video that highlights the craftsmanship behind each frame, featuring Mr. Lauren’s voiceover as he describes his passion for eyewear. Part of a broader campaign entitled “Portraits of Craftsmanship,” the series was created to celebrate the artisanal quality and excellence that goes into the world of Ralph Lauren luxury.
